The Elite M43 fur-lined winter parka was designed in mid 1943 to replace the early pattern pull-over style parkas, the parka featured with a full length, button up front closure, it was introduced in early 1944, and manufacture of the earlier pattern was discontinued.
Our reproduction M43 fur-lined parka featured with all the construction details include:
* The shell of our parka was made of heavy zeltbahn style cotton poplin in the typical field-grey shade.
* The vertical, nine hollow backed button front closure with an overlapping wind flap and an integral hood.
*Two unpleated breast pockets patch, breast pockets and two diagonally angled slash hip pockets all with scalloped button down flaps.
*Tunnel looped fit adjustment elastic positioned at the waistline.
*The interior of the anoraks are is fully lined in multi-panel brown and white mottled artifical rabbit fur to the body and grey rayon to the sleeves.
*Fully lined rabbit fur hoods with four rows of reinforcement stitching and a drawstring.
* Extra-large hood to accommodate a helmet.
*The interior hip pocket bags are constructed in a combination of rabbit fur and woolen material.
We have made the parkas oversized to fit over the standard wool field uniform.
