Markings:The right ricasso is marked \"US / 1038400\", the left is marked \"SA / 1918\" with the flaming ordnance bomb. The back of the scabbard is marked \"R.I.A. 1909 T.C.O.\"Description: This is a 1918 marked Springfield Armory pattern 1905 bayonet that is parkerized, which is correct for items in 1918. The grips are shallow-ribbed wood panels. The scabbard is leather wrapped.
Overall Condition:The blade has scuffs and is developing some small spots of oxidation. The cutting edge is free of dings. The cross guard, tang and pommel have surface oxidation and patina. The wood panels have slight discoloration and small compression marks as photographed. The scabbard body has deeper marks and scuffs, the bottom of the scabbard is missing some stitching, the metal fixtures have oxidation and pin prick erosion. The hanger is an early \'Krag Style\' metal pivoting belt loop. The bayonet lug mechanism functions properly.
