Good condition and guaranteed original WWI US P17 Enfieldbayonet. This early production bayonet was made by Remington and was divertedfrom British P14 production for US military use. Has the British “1913” modeldesignation marking on the blade and dated 10 17 for October 1917. Oppositeside of ricasso has clear U.S., flaming bomb, and eagle head markings. Bladehas mostly brown patina, edge has several small nicks and tip has a ding.Remaining metal finish is original blue with some gold paint. Muzzle ringappears to have a shrapnel strike. Wood grips have original finish and a goodtight fit, lock button functions fine. Fitted in correct original leatherscabbard that has a steel throat and a torn tip. Marked JEWELL 1918. Completewith belt hook. A good representative example of a classic WWI Doughboy bayonetfor your collection.
