Welcome!

I\'m offering for your consideration a fabulous bolo dating to the 1940s, which represents either a Butterfly Maiden Kachina or a Two Horned Sun Face Kachina, based on the pics in two of Sei\'s books which you can see above. The bolo is a close match to a slightly later bracelet I have in my store which I\'ve included in a lot of pictures above and which is available separately. I concluded the piece was probably made by Dexter and Rosemary Cellicion, although several others could have made it. To further complicate matters, Sei attributes a similar form to Lambert Homer Sr. and prices it at $1200 and the similar Butterfly Maiden form Sei attributes to an unknown artist and prices that one at $3000. It seems most likely to me right now that it\'s a Cellicion work. However it is absolutely brilliant and could also have been made by Lambert Homer Sr. At this point the artist is not certain but it is probable and we have here a really lovely old piece, made very early, showing loving wear.

The matching bracelet is part of a series and I\'ve seen it priced in three galleries over time, at prices up to $3000 and as low as $2400. . I have two bracelets in the series in my store and I think they are each museum quality as is this bolo.

This lovely bolo measures 1-3/4\" (4.45 cm) H x 2\" (5.08 cm) W. The tips are nice old ones and they are 1-7/8\" (4.76 cm) high, perfect in size for this bolo.  The tie is still in good shape. End to end with the tips the tie measures 40\" (101.60 cm). This bolo is in great shape with normal loving wear, and it\'s in excellent wearable, vintage and collectible condition. I have been wearing it often with the bracelet and I just love it. It has a happy aura and I think you will love it as much as I. All hand made, stones hand cut and buffed and set, and it has both humility and astonishing beauty.

This is a prime example of work by one of the great masters in Zuni Native American jewelry making. I don\'t know for sure who made it but I do know that this is one of the masterpieces in history, a museum piece of best quality. I recommend it for the best collections.

Attributions on many of the old pieces of Native American jewelry are sometimes a moving target. All the books have errors, so in addition to counterchecking, I have developed some expertise over the years and I do care about getting it right, so as more information comes to light I update my listings and also get in touch with my previous buyers, to inform them of any changes in attributions. I am sincerely committed to ongoing accuracy.

International buyers pay actual shipping cost and are responsible for any customs fees their own countries may apply.

Everything I sell comes from my personal collection or is something that I would include in my personal collection. Most pieces are museum worthy and gallery suitable, sold to you at great pricing. I vet every item carefully for quality and condition, and offer you the best. I want you to be able to rely on me for top quality, superb items that are often unique and rare examples of old antique vintage southwest, indian, native american and fine gold and gemstones, whether you\'re starting a collection or adding to one, or want something great to wear. My goal is that all my buyers are delighted, that my special pieces find the right homes.
