For offer is an original circa 1915-1920 MAYER CHINACOMPANY information booklet, not really a catalog, titled, “The Heritage of aCentury, Mayer China.” It tells thestory, with photographs, of the famous restaurant ware manufacturing companylocated at Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania which was founded in 1881 by Ernest andJoseph Mayer. This booklet has 16unnumbered pages inside the brown covers and blank brown pages within. The booklet is a history of the company withinformation about the makers of restaurant plates, coffee cups and other food /serving pottery pieces. Mayer China was afamous manufacturer of restaurant service for decades in the UnitedStates. The booklet has writing on thefirst several pages. An early owner ofthe book decided to write history of pottery inside the pages, including overthe printed words of the first few pages of the book. Luckily, the writing doesn’t affect too muchof the text. In addition to the writtenwords, there are four photographs pasted onto the pages. Three of the photos show workers and artisansworking in the factory, while the last photo shows the factory building as itlooked about 100 years ago. This bookletis very rare but in decent condition. Inaddition to the writing, it has some minor creases and dog-earred pages but nomajor problems.
