When the big recall scandell hit Bunn, we turned our old pot in for the NHBB 10-Cup Coffee Maker. We LOVE IT!!! First of all, there is no better tasting coffee than the coffee that comes out of a Bunn. Also, the sleak new styling of this coffee maker adds to the benifit! My family has been using Bunn Coffee makers for years, all but my mother, who has continued to use some cheap model. She visited recently and with one taste, she was sold again. Now, it must be said that we do not take our coffee lightly here. We use Bunn filters (because it DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE)and we freshly grind our coffee each morning. Even when we have forgotten to pick up coffee and have to resort to the pre-ground stuff, Bunn saves it in the end with a thick rich piping hot cup of java!
I'd like to rate it better than good, but not quite excellent. Either way, i wanted a newer coffee maker from the Mr Coffee maker we've had for about 10 years. This is much nicer, and with the proper filters you never have to worry about grinds in your pot. I really like the feature that you can turn it on for 15 minutes, then pour your water in, and the extra tanks have already heated your coffee, and you don't have to worry about pouring it fast with the safety feature they have. It's really a nice coffee maker.
This is my second Bunn NHBX coffee maker. The first, after 8 years of use, was running a little slower (thanks to the heavy lime content of our local water), so I decided to get a new one for home and take the old one into my office. I have had all sorts of home coffee brewers over the years but none has ever perfomed like a Bunn and this model is no exception. The coffee brewer quickly and always has a great restaurant sort of taste to it...maybe that is because most good restaurants use Bunn commercial coffee makers. I would recommend the Bunn model NHBX to anyone who wants to brew up a great cup of coffee at home and do it without waiting FOREVER as is the case with most other coffee maker brands.
I drink a lot of coffee. After the (overrated imo) stainless Cuisinart everyone loves died I decided to go back to Bunn (owned one long ago). Does this make the greatest coffee ever brewed by man? No, not in my experience (that goes to a Krups I once owned, but now it appears they make junk). Hence the 4 star rating. Is it a great allaround coffeepot that makes decent coffee? Yes, imo. And it's a good deal for what I paid ($91). Hence the 4 stars :) One warning. Make absolutely sure the carafe is under the basket before closing the top. If you don't you will be soaked with near boiling water. They mention it but not nearly 'good' enough. My wife would've missed it for for sure. Enjoy!
My Sister has had a Bunn Coffee Maker and for YEARS she has Always told me the Coffee that was Produced from her Bunn Coffee Maker Tastes so much BETTER than a Regular Coffee Maker. I thought she was CRAZY until I Recently Bought My Very First Bunn & Tried it. My Sister was RIGHT! The Coffee My Bunn Coffee Maker Produces Tastes so much BETTER than the Coffee I have been Drinking for YEARS with a Standard Coffee Maker! This is by far the BEST TASTING COFFEE I have Ever Had in my Life!! This Bunn Coffee Maker Produces a Smooth Coffee with Tons of Flavor & Absolutely NO Bitterness! I Never Realized Coffee could Taste so GOOD! The Only Downfall to this Coffee Maker is that it has a Stainless Steel Holding Tank on it that Stores a Full Pot of Pre-Heated Water in it all the time, so when you do go to make a pot of coffee, the coffee will start to flow Instantly, (Because of the Water being Pre-Heated) in the Holding tank, which allows for a whole pot of coffee to be Brewed & Ready to Serve in 3 Minutes. Because of this Feature, you have to leave the Coffee Maker Plugged in all the time, but, it does have a "Vacation Button" on it for you to use if you are not going to use the coffee Maker for awhile which will allow the water in the "Holding Tank" to NOT be Pre-Heated. This Coffee Maker Does Require the Special Bunn Coffee Filters to Make a Full Pot of Coffee, as the Bunn Filters are a little bit Taller than a Standard Coffee Filter & will hold the Coffee Grounds needed to make a full pot of coffee without the Grounds overflowing into the pot of coffee. If Standard Filters are Used instead of the Bunn Filters, the Coffee Grounds will overflow & wind up in your Coffee! The Bunn Filters are Easily Accessible & Affordable & can be Purchased at Walmart.....no Biggie! This is my FIRST Bunn Coffee Maker, & I am Sold on it! It is by Far the Very BEST Coffee Maker I have ever Used & Produces OUTSTANDING COFFEE!!! I Completely Understand WHY My Sister has Ranted & Raved about Her Bunn Coffee Maker all these Years, Now that I Have one & have Tasted the Difference for Myself. I would Highly Recommend this Coffee Maker to Anyone who has been Considering Purchasing a Bunn Coffee Maker, but who might have been Hesitant about doing so. Even though they are Expensive, they are WELL WORTH the Money & they have an Excellent 3 Year Warranty on them. I Love the more Rounded Design on this Particular Model! So Much more Appealing to the Eyes, versus their old style Square Tank they first came out with & still Produce! This Model looks so Much Better!! ALot More Eye Appealing on my Counter Top! :-) I am Positive that if you Purchase one of these, you will NOT Be Disappointed! This is an AWESOME Coffee Maker that Produces a Full Pot of Great Tasting Coffee in 3 Minutes Flat! So Impressive!!Read full review
