I first saw this blender demonstrated at a Mall but didn't think I could afford it. I don't believe their is a better one made. Got almost a brand new one on Ebay for half the price. This is one high quality made blender. Nothing "cheap" about it as it's made with high end manufacturing and long lasting parts. My bet is it'll be around for my grandkids to use. Powerful motor on it with great variety of variable speeds and cutting blades that will grind up anything. Makes soup in seconds and spins it so fast that it even heats it up for you. The ice cream recipes in the book are unbelieve and you can make them in seconds. We make very healthy breakfast drinks everyday with it now. You can't buy a better blender/juicer and if you're into health foods and getting the most out of every bit of your fruits and vegetables this blender will grind it up and pour it out for delicious eating. Can't say enough good about it. I love it.Read full review
Smoothies? Quick and smooooooooth. Other blenders I've tried won't even puree ice properly or quickly - and here this wonder machine quickly dissolves stuff like frozen almonds, yogurt, ice, frozen mango and berries into a smoothie better than any smoothie you can buy. Ice cream in less than 4 minutes. Make watermelon juice, pineapple juice, mango juice......juice possibilities are endless. If you get the blender with the dry food blending container, you can make nut butter (ever had Brazil nut butter?) or grind grain into flour in just seconds. I use the Healthy Start cookbook from The Weimar Institute (the best "starter" vegan cookbook you can get, in my opinion), and make sauces from whole raw cashews - this Vitamix Super 5000 blends these raw cashews into a sauce that is smoother than silk. Quick to clean up afterwards, too: put warm water and dish soap in, start the blender, then rinse. The first one I bought was 20 years old, and I used it for 10 years, then gave it to a friend when I got a deal on a new one at a fair. The old one was still in perfect working order, but I wanted the one with the grain/dry food grinder. The VitaMix Super 5000 (the description says "1 speed" but the one I got has more speeds) I just bought on Ebay is for a friend's housewarming. I know she is going to love it!Read full review
The Vita Mix blender is just what I expected and I would recommend the mixer highly. The only draw back to this model is the fact as soon as you turn the switch to the on position it starts. So basically it is a manual start and stop the timer doesn't seem to kick in. Great blender all in all.

I finally purchased a VitaMix - I have wanted one for sometime - I am very pleased with the product. We have our green drink every morning and the VitaMix does a quick - great job of mixing the ingredients - plus we have used it for ice cream type drinks using whole healthy fruits and ice cubes - incredible how the VitaMix chops up the ice cubes and give us a healthy drink. I have not tried making soup but that is on my "to do" list - I have spoken with others who have a VitaMix - I have not heard one negative comment. If you are considering purchasing one - I highly recommend the VitaMix - you will not be disappointed.
This is an awesome product. It is easy to use, powerful and versatile. Making drinks, smoothies etc has never been easier and more fun. LOVE IT!!!!!!!
