I had a 1976 P-bass and put a QP pickup in it 25 years ago, as soon as I sold it I missed it - so I just purchased a new P-bass and put a new QP into this one too! I really like the sound of this pickup and I recommend it to anyone who wants maximum bass without putting a battery inside your guitar for a preamp. For extra boost I can use a preamp pedal which makes battery changing easier if you use batteries and unnecessary if you use a power supply on your pedalboard, and then boosting is optional at my desire.

Love these PU’s ! Fat and punchy tones! My bass sounds like a different guitar. Perfect fit. Thanks

I've used Seymoure Duncan pickups in several of my guitars with great success. I acquired a Fender Standard MIM P-Bass and thought it sounded a bit anemic. Nice, but no thump. I installed the SPB-3 Quarter pounders and it really woke up that P-Bass. Huge bottom end with crisp top end. Now, dial up the treble a bit and slap and pop comes alive. Dial the treble back a bit and turn up the gain, and these pickup achieve that metal growl that was missing with the stock pickups. I really like these, give them a try!

These pickups have a lot of balls and are offered at a great price. If you need more output in your Pbass pickups these are the ones to get. I have installed these in my other basses and they are amazing!

This is an extremely well made product. Very boomy with crisp highs. I use this pickup in a P-P configuration and I can get any sound I want out of my bass.
