Here in the USA we take for granted our drinking water. Most of us are one disaster away from not having clean drinking water. These Coleman 5 gallon containers are just the right size to fill up with water and carry. These Coleman containers are made from heavy duty thick plastic with a built in grab handle.. Each has a removable lid with a built in spigot. I hope we never have to resort to filling these jugs every day or so for hydration. Should a major disaster come our way these will do nicely until such crisis is over. These are also excellent for camping, sailing or traveling on a long trip. We can never be too safe when it comes to drinking water. Humans in average shape and perfect conditions (not too hot or cold) can probably live for three to five days without any water if they're not physically exerting themselves. Healthier people can live a day or so longer, while those who are unhealthy or exposed to particularly hot or cold weather may not survive as long. To stay healthy, you need to continually replenish your fluid supply. Experts recommend drinking approximately two quarts (64 ounces or about eight glasses) of water each day. Of course, if you live in an extremely hot or cold area — or if you exercise a lot — you may need to drink a gallon or more of water every day. I figure about a gallon a day per person. I may just order two more just in case. Read full review

Good value is a little hard to mark because I have five of these that cost me $5 each. That was about 20 years ago. I am finally replacing one of them. They last forever. Our city water is hard and tastes terrible. I don't care for bottled water. But in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, at a gas station in Marquette, there is a natural spring that GUSHES clear, cold, tasteless spring water. It is the BEST beverage in the world, hands down. So I take my 5 jugs up each year to our cabin and fill them up. Come home with 25 gallons of water and rotten gas mileage. It's worth it! 25 gallons lasts me a year as a single senior woman. These are strong and sturdy. However, at my age, they are hard to lift so I have a system set up where I tip one over on a small table and poor from there. I have one seven gallon one that I accidentally bought some years ago. That was a mistake. It is just TOO heavy. But the five gallon ones are perfect. Read full review

I purchased a Bayou 4 gallon deep fryer, come to find out it holds 5 gallons. So this container works out just fine. One must always allow the oil to completely cool, remember hot oil will melt plastic. This allows me to clean the cooker and then put the cooking oil back in for use. fits under the cooker drain valve perfect for draining and handles very well to pour the oil back in.

Great product but valve breaks after about 2 years of use. The price is fair enough where i just buy more.. I use 5 of these to bring fresh water to my hunt camp... They work great.

I love this jug! The spigot on top is easy to remove to fill, and you can set it on a picnic table and just open the spigot to get whatever amount of water you need. I've had some of mine for years.I never use any chemicals to clean them, just rinse well and refill. The water keeps well and the square design makes it easy to store them.
