I bought this to keep on the shelf until the one I am using goes out. I've had very good luck with these Mr. Coffee makers. I like that this model is simple with one switch for on/off. I have a microwave for clock and timer and don't need all the bells and whistles on my coffee maker.

Clumsy arrangement for loading water and coffee; with a hot water spout that gives a very localized deposit on the grounds. Vents at the back to limit water to 12 cups - bad design to make a mess where it will not be seen - far better to vent at top of two water gauges on the front. To replace a 25 year old superior model Mr Coffee maker. They are serious about the "ORIGINAL".

It's a modern day percolator, heats the water and runs it over filtered grounds into a pot. I wish they would have buit this so you could separate the upper and lower section. the plastic has been manufactured that way, but they have a proprietary screw-type in the base that you can't get loose so you can wash the upper section.

We had this model before and loved it so when the old one finally 'gave up' we searched for another and glad they still made this model. We tried one with all the bells and whistles but had nothing but trouble with it plus it made terrible tasting coffee! Went back to the Simple Brew and have the best tasting coffee ever.

Basic coffeemaker that brews 12 cups in under 10 min. Coffee stays hot. The only control is an on/off switch. No timer or auto-shutoff. You can pause and pour a cup. I recommend using a brass or SS coffee basket in lieu of paper for better tasting coffee.
