I did a lot of research and listening before purchasing the Yamaha NP-30 Portable Keyboard. I was searching specifically for a lightweight piano with, Great Piano sound, and good "key" action. I also own a Yamaha Motif ES7 and I typically use it for my "heavy" playing sessions. But weighing in at around 60-70lbs I wanted something that would be easy to bring to the "casual" playing affairs when I didn't need the heavy artillery. Those times when a great piano sound was needed and not all the bells and whistles of the Motif. In the end there are better weighted "key"-boards out there but the sound quality, and 12 lbs weight kept bringing me back to the NP-30 (price helped too). Even though the casing is not built to the professional quality standards (plastic not metal etc...) it is more durable than the typical "toy" type keyboards you find all over the place, and the "look" is professional enough that you're not embarrassed to be seen with it. The built in speakers and battery operation are a bonus to add to the portability. It all comes down to your needs, this keyboard fit my sound quality, portability, and quality needs. For a negative: Of the limited (ten sound banks) sounds a negative is there are two very good "church" organ type sounds, I wish it had one "church" type organ and one "hipper" organ like a Hammond. Hope this helpsRead full review
Compact size for a 76 key keyboard. The ten voices it has are pretty good, and they don't add the fluff of extra voices. It can also be powered by AA batteries, which is great for mobile playing, and also has a wall wart so you don't pour money into batteries when you don't need them. Key weighting and touch sensitivity is good, but not the best that I've ever seen. The compact size and price tag make it a great addition to any space, and it feels very similar to playing a real piano -- much better than most keyboards in the same price range. All in all, a great deal for a great product.
This is my second time buying the yamaha NP-30 package and I just love the piano. It is perfect. This will be great for anyone just starting to play because this package comes with everything you need. The only thing I did not like about my second purchase is that the headphones and pedal seemed of poor quality compared to the headphones and pedal I received the first time I bought it. The second pedal is made out of plastic and I was disappointed. As for the second headphones I didn't like because it was cheap. The first headphones I received were those big fluffy ones that fit comfortably around your ear. That is my only complaint. I wish they sent me the same products. All in all.... Great buy and great savings! The piano coming with the bench, stand, headphones, pedal... I couldn't resist from buying for this price.Read full review

I'm not really a keyboardist, but am learning, but do know a great sound, good features, and how a good keyboard should feel. The piano sound is really great, and I got exactly what I thought I was paying for. I think this keyboard is a tremendous value. I'm planning on buying another one for the worship team.
