The 1930-S is an interesting issue. It is fairly common in circulated grades, but it is definitely scarce in mint state. It is way rarer in mint state and Gem condition than the San Francisco Mint issues that follow, including the ultra low mintage 1931-S. The 1930-S is usually decently struck by S-Mint Buffalo nickel standards. Luster is usually very frosty and iridescent.
Perfect way to get the younger generation interested in the hobby or for just someone who has an interest for a particular date for nostalgia reasons.

Yeah, fine and very fine is a tough grade. But it is a fine coin. I remember I used to pick them out of a dish at the local coin shop 4 for a quarter. I have always liked buffalo nickels? I guess the rest of the world was bound find them sooner than later.
