We also use an awesome ampeg Micro-VR for bass guitar which used to look so small for how loud it is, and with that great ampeg tone. We get alot of comments on that. But this thing is about a quarter of the size of the VR and I think possibly even a little louder, making the VR actually look large in comparison. We use this as a keyboard amp and I use the tone print to add a little bit of gritty drive since this is replacing a Kustom tube head that I could no longer justify toting around at about 6 times the size and considerably less power. We usually start a tour by flying somewhere and heading out from there in a rental car, so the smaller and more efficient we can get our gear the more money we can save on transport, and the farther we can travel. This thing is a big winner for us.Read full review

This amp head is exactly what I was looking for. It is small and lightweight, but powerful enough to drive any speaker cabinet I could throw at it. It is also small enough that I carry it, the foot-switch and cables easily in a laptop bag. I bought it for playing bass in my church's worship team. The built-in XLR DI (both pre- and post-EQ) to the sound board makes it easy using the amp in church, with or without a cabinet. The "tone contour" controls are more versatile than a standard tone stack and is sculpted for the most common bass frequencies needed in most venues. Having the tone prints (two tone print memories used one at a time) means I don't need to bring stomp boxes to the venue either. Tone prints can be loaded through the instrument pickups via a smartphone during a set (iPhone or Android; internet connection required) or from a computer via a USB cable using the Tone print application. The tone prints can even be edited and you can store and load your own custom settings using the computer. The tone print editor in the application gives total access to ALL the parameters of the effect - even more than is available on the face of the equivalent stomp box. FYI - use of the second tone print requires the optional 3-button foot-switch and the amp "remembers" your tone print knob setting for each memory, so once each is set, adjusting after switchover is not necessary. The foot-switch is way cheaper than a stomp box, plus the amp can be muted (DI and cabinet) hands-free. The on-board tuner is accurate, easy to use and is "on" all the time. The power LED also blinks any time the amp is muted. In my opinion, this is the biggest bang for the buck in bass amplifiers today.Read full review

This is a great amp, period. I have been a GK guy for going on 20 years, but TC has really turned my head in the last year or so. Their gear, including this amp, is meticulously designed and manufactured to the highest standard. Nothing has been missed, from a rack-space saving onboard tuner, to built in TC effects through the use of Toneprint. It sounds great, is tiny enough to stow in a gig bag, and has everything a gigging bassist could want. I highly recommend it.

I was tired of big heavy equipment so I got this little gem. It really sounds great, fit's in my gig bag pocket and at about 6 o'clock on the master keeps up with the band through a 4 x 10 cab. the "Tone print" is pretty ingenious, although I didn't think I'd use it, it turns out to be quite handy. I really like the compressor and some of the octiver settings do a cool kind of synth bass thing that's handy for those early 80's dance tunes. For the money and the size/weight this thing is fantastic. I'm gonna try out the 2x12 cab TC makes in an effort to further reduce gear lugging.

This amp does the job. For the money it is hard to beat. I am not using much of the tone print as I purchased it as an on stage amp that I use for worship services. It is driving a custom made 2x10 cabinet with Eminence Kappa 10s at 8 ohms. It is not a $1500 amp so you shouldn't expect earth shattering tone. I plan to use it in the future particularly the octave ones since we play in so many different keys and I prefer a 4 string. The built in tuner is great and the tone controls are adequate. It's a solid product by all means.
