Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in Vintage Stereo Receivers
In my opinion, this series of receivers were among the best sounding HK made. Who am I to say? I have a 730 twin, 670, 680, 570, 690, 6900 integrated amp, 880vxi and a relatively new 3350. It is rated at 60 wps and has lots of dynamic headroom and great response. It cannot power monster speakers like Mirage 3si, or even get proper bass out of vintage period Celestial 44's, but it will produce very nice sound through well matched speakers. It is a much better receiver than the 730, which everyone raves about. Better detail, far better tonal reach and better radio. The switches are problematic and they easily get scratchy and corroded. Likely the tone defeat and loudness are quirky. The battery for the preset memory is nicad and doesn't last more than a few years. It has a bigger power supply than the 680, but I don't think the sound is as detailed. All in all, a nice near "vintage" amp. Just be prepared to give it some tlc.Read full review

Using in my living room with 15" Pioneer floor standing multi-channel speakers and Bose acoustimass 5 created perfect sound to my taste. The claimed wide bandwidth seems accurate. It's so wide that I didn't need to turn on my JBL sub and still get deeper sound than my old Marantz. I am loving it.
