Round 2 models has been knocking it out of the park of late, reissuing model kits that for decades were nothing but memories for those of us of a certain age, growing up during the 70s and 80s which were arguably the golden age of modeling. Through older eyes (and higher skill sets!) the kits may or may not have aged well depending on your outlook or what you're used to; anyone who's built anything from Japan (Tamiya, Aoshima et al) will be disappointed with the sometimes iffy parts fit, copious amounts of flash and occasionally vague directions. To be fair some of these kits are going on 40 years old with not much maintenance on the molds, however if you want to relive your youth and go back in time to build something from the past with modern glues, paints and materials you can't go wrong with anything from them. The General Lee is a perfect example of this, originally released as a stock car kit the General was created by tooling up an accurate '69 Charger body, adding it and the requisite decal sheet and wheels and calling it a day. And to represent the most famous car on tv it does a fairly good job, the body is straight and clean, with barely there flash, the chassis and interior have a full roll cage which isn't entirely accurate; to build a screen correct car you have to get creative with the cage but the end result has nice detail. The engine has full wiring and plumbing, it even has piston detail in the engine block and valvetrain detail in the cylinder heads so if a diorama of the Duke boys rebuilding the engine is part of your plans it would be possible and look great! The instructions are a direct reprint from the original and as such can be vague or just not helpful, this is where your talent gained from many years of building models can really help. The recent controversy surrounding the flag has driven these kits off the market, they aren't even being made anymore so if you're a fan even if you're not going to build it this is worth getting, before long even being able to buy them will be impossible since the supply will dry up. So to sum up: BUY ONE! Better yet, buy two! While you still can!Read full review

I love this Model Kit. I really don't understand why you want it returned. It's just like the TV Show car and it's cool for that series. That's why I like it. The show was fun for my Dad and i back then....A+

As a Dukes fan growing up I can remember watching the TV SHOW when they were not reruns and this model and other Duke related models bring me back to a time in my life that was so much simpler. Absolutely love it and recommend it. Thank you.

This kit was a very challenging one, but in the end all the pieces fit well and the detail was pretty amazing. There are even a few left over pieces and the decals worked perfectly. Nice kit all the way.
