This is a very nice early banjolin project that needs acouple repairs and a setup…but a great piece to “start from” if you like tobring these old guys back to life. Singlestar in the headstock…several makers used that so hard for me to identify themaker for sure…probably Vega, Gretsch, or Lyon and Healy. Maybe other experts know for sure.

Appears to be complete with all original parts. Possiblymissing the cover that goes on the nickel tailpiece, if there ever was one.

Early 1900s style tuners work fine and show a lot of brassdetail work. Original buttons are in great shape. These tuners work very smooth and are highquality and valuable in their own right. Amazingly, all straight shafts.

It is a good neck with good frets, but an amateur has triedto add shims – to both top and bottom areas of the neck heel – and the neckangle is incorrect, creating really stiff action. So a neck angle adjustment isin order. There is a crack in the neckheel that may or may not need to be glued. see the many detailed pictures of the neck heel / shims, above.

Rim diameter is 8.5 inches. The skin looks to be in goodshape. 14 hooks are all present.

Reverse side (inside) shows a signature that is sort ofillegible but old-timey hand-writing. No other manufacturer marks. Birdseye maple is shown in the rim and brace.Nice wood throughout.

This was a high quality instrument in its day, made with thebest materials. Should make a reallynice vintage player.

No case but ships well-packed, like the mummy, withinsurance. 39.00 to usa seller reserves the right to select shippingmethod based on buyer location.
