For your consideration I have this extremely rare first version of the Montblanc Masterpiece 142 Fountain Pen.
Made of celluloid with a striped long ink window and a flat ski-slope feed.Produced from 1946 to 1955.(The 142 was introduced in 1946 and untill 1955 was fitted with a flat \'ski slope\' feed)
The penfeatures a telescopic piston mechanism andis fitted with a 14K-585 two-tonenib in a smooth Extra Fine point (no mentionable flex).
The filling knob is marked \'142\' and \'EF-\'
This is the export version of the 142.Therefore the cap ring is marked \'MONTBLANC - MASTERPIECE - \"
The pen is 100% functional (no restoration done).The piston runs very smoothly and still draws the full amount of ink.
Cosmetically the pen is in excellent condition. The cap rings are tight.Some loss of the gold fill on the clip, no cracks or obvious scratches.
Over the years the celluloid of the barrel has become semi-translucent, giving it a lovely orange tone.
Will be carefully packed and shipped by registered and fully insured mail.
