ARTIFACT: Extremely Rare, 1942 USMC VMSB-142 Jacket Patch Variant and 2 Vintage Cactus Air Force Photos. Cactus was the US Navy code for the Guadalcanal operation. The combination of a handful of US Army, Navy and Marines, who called themselves The Cactus Air Force, flew from Henderson Field and saved Guadalcanal. They operated in horrible conditions with inferior equipment, inadequate supplies and yet they held on. Their story is recorded in "The Cactus Air Force" by Thomas G. Miller, Jr., Harper & Row, 1969. This is an opportunity to own a true piece of WW2 history.
