Painstakingly saved from the cruel flames of the smelter, I bring you THE original Amazing Spider-Man 252 Printing Plate! An extremely rare piece of comicopia, in over 30 years of collecting I've seen very few surviving plates, none as important as this one.

ASM 252 features the 1st appearance of the symbiote known as Venom in the Amazing Spider-Man series, which at the time was portrayed as simply a costume that could change into whatever Peter Parker wanted to wear. Remnants of ink on this metal plate may actually be symbiote!

The backstory on the black costume intro itself is very interesting, as it was submitted by a fan. Google: "Black Spider-Man Costume Origin" to learn more about this little know fact.
