Description

A large and impressive Chinese blue and white porcelain jar, attributed to the Ming Dynasty, circa 1500–1550.

Strongly potted and finely hand-painted in underglaze cobalt blue with floral scrolls and decorative panels. The cobalt shows attractive variations from soft blue to deeper concentrated tones. The glazed surface displays natural crazing and signs of age, while the unglazed base shows visible potting marks and age-related wear.

The piece has received a preliminary assessment from a well-known European buyer/dealer specializing in Chinese works of art, and has also been examined by a Korean art and antique appraisal institution, supporting a Ming Dynasty attribution.
