Utah became the 45th state admitted to the Union on January 4, 1896 and this becamethe official United States Flag on July 4, 1896.
This design was used for 12 years under the administrations of Grover Cleveland, William McKinley & Teddy Roosevelt; served as the official Flag during the Spanish American War and was not replaced until 1908 when Oklahoma joined the Union.
Cotton gauze Flag measures 3.5 x 5.5” & stick 10” in total. Distinct staggered seven and eight star pattern. Beautiful, early construction.
Tight waves near stick & heavy curl from 125+ years stored. Otherwise, new old stock condition.
