Extremely rare 19th Century antique tribal ethnographic cloak vest crafted from leo. f pelts. A remarkable ceremonial garment reminiscent of traditional African chief and royal regalia. The piece features an aged leather backing with original Manhattan Union stamp markings and displays evidence of historical use and age.

Based on its construction, materials and period alterations, the garment appears to have been reworked or restored during the early 20th century while retaining its original character. The interior bears a Manhattan Union stamp, adding further collector interest and provenance.

This unique collector’s piece showcases beautiful natural patterning throughout and possesses strong ethnographic, historical and museum-display appeal. An exceptional artifact for collectors of tribal art, African ethnography, natural history, curiosities and antique textiles.
