Antique (late 1800s-early 1900s) Dietz Wood Crate with Lid. These crates are very seldom (if ever) found with the lid still attached. The crate is marked on all 4 sides with some markings displaying: 'The Old Reliable', 'Dietz Lanterns', 'Don't Smoke Nor Blow Out', 'Half #505 Doz' (note '#505' appears written, as opposed to stenciled), 'Dietz Special Blizzard Cold Blast Lanterns', 'New York, USA'. On the top is stenciled 'WHALEY HDWE CO, Roanoke VA 1011187' as well as 'FROM THE W.BINGHAM CO CLEVELAND OHIO'. Although this is a very old piece it is still in excellent, solid condition.
