This spectacular Lladró High Porcelain creation draws its tale from the Mahabharata, one of the greatest epics of ancient India. Upon the field of Kurukshetra, the legendary archer Arjuna rides to battle with none other than Lord Krishna as his charioteer and divine guide.

The scene is wrought in both matte and glazed porcelain, richly adorned with golden lustre and metallic detailing across the warriors’ garments, the royal chariot, and its four magnificent steeds. No corner hath escaped the hand of the artisan.

Most remarkable is the garland worn by Krishna: 172 individual porcelain flowers, each fashioned petal by petal by hand. A task requiring either extraordinary patience… or several very obedient monastery scribes.

Handcrafted in Spain, this monumental work stands among the grand achievements of the Lladró High Porcelain workshop and is limited to merely 299 pieces worldwide.

💎A Tale From the Battlefield

Before the battle began, Arjuna looked across the field and saw among the enemy his own relatives, teachers, and friends.

His courage vanished.

He lowered his mighty bow, Gandiva, and told Krishna that he could not fight.

What followed was not merely a battle speech, but the conversation that became the Bhagavad Gita. Krishna taught Arjuna that a man must perform his rightful duty without becoming enslaved to fear, reward, victory, or loss.

One of its most enduring lessons may be summed thus:

You command your actions not their outcome.

Arjuna eventually raised his bow again, not because Krishna promised him victory, but because he had learned that true courage is doing what must be done even when the result remains beyond your control.

A fitting lesson for warriors, kings… and the rest of us.
