COMPOSITE IRON WORKS COMPANY in business during 1873 at 109 Mercer Street later moving to 83 Reade Street NEW YORK CITY, 1884 .This company was in business inthelate1800's and specialized in plain and ornamental iron works, railing and opera seats. There was a profusion of cast iron foundries in New York in the 1800's,and Composite Iron Works was known for some of the most well executed and elaborate. They were commissioned in 1904 to create an iron alter railing for the famous Mexico Zacatecas Cathedral-Composite Iron Works Co was the only company in New York willing to undertake such a elaborate feat.

All ingood condition for its age. Rust but no major breaks and in good shape. Nice details. This fencingcan be easily painted to match your styleand décor or left as is for a great old patina. What a nostalgic way to add an authentic Victorian flavor to your property.

The original collector of this fencing began collecting antiques, and antique architectural accesories from the many old homes that were torn down in Montgomery from the years 1935- 1970 and storing them in his warehouse with the intent of eventually building a home with them.
