Membre de la célèbre dynastie des Sanson, famille d’exécuteurs officiels du royaume de France, Henry Sanson appartient à une lignée intimement liée aux grands événements de l’histoire nationale.

Fils de Charles-Henri Sanson, exécuteur de Louis XVI en 1793, il hérite de cette charge et exerce ses fonctions sous la Révolution puis l’Empire, avant de se retirer au début du XIXᵉ siècle.

A member of the famous Sanson dynasty, the official executioners of the Kingdom of France, Henry Sanson belonged to a lineage closely associated with the major events of French history.

The son of Charles-Henri Sanson, who carried out the execution of Louis XVI in 1793, he inherited this office and served during the Revolution and the Empire, before retiring in the early 19th century.
