I don't usually like to offer huge items but this piece is truely something out of a museum and a marvel I hate to have to part with. This is a partial associated skeleton skull of the infamous Tylosaurus Proriger mosasaurus! This seriously impressive fossil was found in the Cretaceous Niobrara Formation of Kansas. While Moroccan mosasaurus skeletons/skulls real or fake are a dime a dozen you rarely ever see mosasaurus material of this scale being offered publicly in the USA from an American fossil site. This skull has been heavily stabilized during prep to keep it as sturdy as possible for display with pretty much all natural bones though the jaw does not have any preserved teeth for the most part, measuring an astounding around 58 or so inches in total length! The only thing that flakes off of it is leftover matrix on the underside not seen in the photos as its not really worth flipping over this heavy specimen just to show that.

Tylosaurus was a primary predator of the Western Interior Seaway during the Late Cretaceous. Among the largest of all the mosasaur species there is Tylosaurus that reached a maximum lengths of around 14 meters. With is unique characteristic elongated, cylindrical premaxilla snout from which it takes its name, it is speculated it was used to ram and stun prey and also for intraspecific combat. Tylosaurus was designated as an official state fossil of Kansas in 2014. I seriously wish I could keep this for myself but alas I do not have space as it would sit in one of my storage units for a real long time with other material. So for someone with the display space this is your chance to own an incredible type of fossil display piece you'd only see on display in a museum! example of vertebra bone from a colossal and ferocious mosasaur!
