This is a very rare, Very Rare, fossil specimen of a large. Prehistoric tarpon like Cladocyclus Gardineri fish. This specimen is over 110 million years old and in incredible condition. It has preserved exceptionally well with details of the fish scales, fins, eyes, gills and body easily recognizable through fossilization over millions of years. The fishes up turned mouth and long shape suggests this fish was a large top water predator. This is spectacular decorative piece for a modern home interior, a great fit for any outdoorsman’s trophy case or a perfect fit for collectors of all sorts. This specimen is roughly 3 inches wide and almost 36 inches long. Again these are very hard to come by these days due to export restrictions on items like this from countries where these fossils are found. This fossil has been in the United States for several years and therefore does meet the sale requirements. The incredible shape and detail of this specimen just adds to the rarity of this fantastic fossil.
