Description:It is an authentic antique map approximately 145 years old from Van Horne\'s History of the Army of the Cumberland, maps compiled by Edward Ruger, published in Cincinnati, 1875.Afacsimilecopy of the atlas title page isincluded for authenticity. This map is from a compilation of maps put together after the war by Edward Ruger, who was the topographical engineer under Major General Thomas during the Civil War. Ruger and his team were tasked with surveying and drawing up maps of entrenchments, fortications, natural obstacles and other for the battle and after the war many these maps and notes were used, along with other records in consultation with Gen. Thomas, to create a set of historically accurate maps to illustrate theHistory of the Cumberland Army,which was a project ordered by General Thomas.It is a large folding lithograph mapwith one horizontal and three vertical folds.The publishing and printing details are in the bottom margin and a copyright date in the upper right corner that reads, \"Copyright 1875 by E. Ruger & T.B. Van Horne.\" It is not mounted, matted nor framed, being sold as a single folding map as seen in the main pic. Overall, it is a scarce map in very good condition.

Size: The entire page measures 15 x 17 1/2 inches (38x45cm)

Condition:The map is in Good to Very Good condition, blank on reverse with a vertical and three horizontal folds as issued. There is a a four inch tear on the left edge repaired on reverse and a couple of minor tears at the intersections of the folds that have been reinforced on reverse, all with archival material. Otherwise, it is a nice strong impression with bright color that would frame up well, see the pics for more on condition. The pics are of the actual map.
