Shockingly rare, utterly phenomenal Modernist GERALD THURSTON Lightolier table lamp
Without question, one of THE most fascinating lamps I have ever collected. An incredible design composed of solid brass, an enameled perforated shade, with super-finely machined brass arms and a white glass globe.This isn\'t a small accent lamp.....roughly 29 1/2 inches tall with a 15 inch wide perforated shade (black on the outside, with underneath).
What\'s also fascinating to me is that, like the iconic lamp Gerald Thurston designed for Stiffel (shown for comparison), this lamp shares the exact same base. 3 thin brass finials connect the perforated shade to the brass arms.The lamp\'s ceramic socket holds regular sized Edison bulb. The original cord has a rotary switch with has a LOW and HIGH setting.A complete mid century lighting treasure......possibly even a prototype or a lamp with a very low / custom production run.

One can easily buy a great $1000 contemporary lamp from Holly Hunt or Circa lighting, or Flos (to name a few) but the lamps I sell
will never be produced again and I appreciate their rarity.

I never sell \"Frankenstein\" lamps (odd pieces slapped together, slathered in new paint (oddly enough usually fire engine red) and passed off as having an exotic (usually Italian, or Gino Sarfatti ) origin.
