The author named the book after his teacher, Rabbi Avraham Ravigo. Madel Mansbach Press. Fürth, 1701. First edition.Illustrated title page with copperplate engraving depicting Moses and Aharon, and the battle between David and Goliath. Many approbations appear at the front of the book.

Sefer Eshel Avraham, “…with an exegesis on the Seven Days of Creation. And the sod of ta’amei torah and the letters and niqqud…and Etz HaDaat Tov v’Ra…and also Shiur Kuma…and some maamarim from the Zohar (with the language of the Zohar included) with exegesis. The beginning of the book is the sod of the Ten Sfirot…”, by the kabbalist Rabbi Mordechai ben Rabbi Yehuda Leib Ashkenazi, who lived in the 17th century. A student of the kabbalist Rabbi Avraham Revigo, after whom he named the work.

קבלה - ספר אשל אברהם. להמקובל רבי מרדכי אשכנזי - מהדורה ראשונה - עם איור האילן הקדוש. פיורדא תס"א 1701.ספר אשל אברהם, עניני קבלה ופירוש מאמרי הזהר הקדוש, מאת רבי מרדכי אשכנזי. בדפוס מאדלר מאנשבך, פיורדא, תס"א 1701 - מהדורה ראשונההקדמה ארוכה מהמחבר. עם הסכמות רבות של רבים מחשובי הרבנים באותה תקופה כולל ר’ דוד אופנהיים ורבי אברהם ברודא. בהקדמתו כותב המחבר על החיוניות של עבודתו להשגת הבנה אמתית במכמני הזוהר. המחבר מקדיש את ספרו לרבו, ר’ אברהם רוביגו, ומכאן מקור השם “אשל אברהם”.שער מאויר בדמויות משה ואהרן, ומלחמת דוד וגלית. במספר מקומות טבלאות קבליות. באמצע הספר (דפים מה-מו) שני עמודים עם "אילנות". בעמוד אחד - "שבע היכלין דקודשא" ובעמוד מולו - "שבע היכלין דקליפה".בעמוד קמה ע"ב וקמו ע"א עיגול וטבלאות עם שמות מלאכים ועוד.
המחבר רבי מרדכי אשכנזי. גדול ומקובל מחכמי ירושלים הקדיש את שם ספרו זה - "אשל אברהם" לשם רבו כדלהלן:רבי אברהם רוויגו ב"ר רפאל ממודינא. רב גאון מובהק ומקובל מגדולי חכמי דורו. תורה וגדולה במקום אחד. מרביץ תורה במודינא, עלה לירושלים, ראשון לציון שם. נדד לחו"ל לטובת הישוב. נפטר ת"ע. מחבר 'זרע אברהם'.
