For sale is an original antique mounted photo from 1900. It shows a group of seven young women sitting in a horse-drawn carriage. An African-American man wearing a top hat holds the reins of the horse. The carriage is decorated with flowers, so it might have been part of a parade. The photographer was Ephraim George Clements of Lincoln, Nebraska. Writing on the back of the picture indicates it was taken on October 4, 1900. The women are identified as Edythe Jones, Mabelle Barrick, Lena Anthony, Edith Erford, Minnie Jo Don, R. Chapman and (?) Luse. This photo was purchased at an estate sale innSouthwestern Indiana. At least one of the family members attended the University of Nebraska around 1900, so the women in the photo might have been students there. This item measures 10 by 10 1/2 inches. The image is 6 by 8 and is clear and in very good condition. The cardboard mount has been trimmed on the right side.
