Vintage 1962 University of Virginia Cavaliers heavy 14K solid gold mounted lab created blue stone ring in its original box. The inside of the ring is engraved with name Hy Levasseur 1962 who that year was named All-American for his efforts on the Cavaliers lacrosse team. The ring is a size 9 and it weighs 20.9 grams. It is in excellent apparently never worn condition. It comes in its original Art Carved box where it has spent the last 60 years. After graduating in '62 Hy enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps as an Infantry Officer and held the rank of Captain. From 1965–1966, Hy was a Combat Cargo Officer aboard the LPH U.S.S. Guadalcanal, and in charge of all Marine Corps equipment and personnel loaded and off-loaded. Hy continued as a reserve Marine from 1968–1990. Although no longer an active Marine, Hy always believed that once a Marine, always a Marine. The inside of the band is also stamped 14K along with pat. #322587 and Art Carved maker's mark.
