Exceptional circa-1974 world travel photograph album assembled by American photographer Cecil B. Atwater (1886–1981). The album contains approximately 290 original chromogenic color photographs documenting Atwater’s travels through more than 25 countries across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, including India, the Philippines, Denmark, and England.

The photographs include vivid street scenes, portraits, religious and cultural sites, architecture, landscapes, and everyday life. Most measure approximately 5 x 3½ inches, with several larger and square-format images. They are artfully arranged recto and verso behind clear page coverings, with most identified by location and accompanied by brief handwritten descriptions.

Bound in its original red leatherette album with gilt-lettered title and photographer’s name on the cover. This is the exact album previously catalogued by Swann sale Galleries, New York, in its Fine Photographs sale of February 13, 2025 A remarkable and extensive visual record of international travel during the 1970s, offering strong visuals to collectors of vernacular photography, travel photography, photobooks, and twentieth-century cultural history.
