Rare! Vintage 1964 space station concept artwork rendered by Vic Kenderski. Cannot find any original painting quite like it! This is a gem of a find for anyone who loves Westinghouse, NASA, space exploration, and concept art.

Measuring 40” wide and 29.5” tall, this is a signed, very detailed, hand done illustration by Vic Kenderski. He signed the bottom left corner and the back top left corner.

During this time frame, Westinghouse Astro Nuclear Laboratory (WANL) was primarily focused on the NERVA (Nuclear Engine for Rocket Vehicle Application) program. So this technical drawing may be one of the concepts for this.

The artist also went by Victor S. Kender. Kenderski was a technical artist and designer who specialized in technical airbrush art, graphics management, and industrial design. He worked very closely with Westinghouse Astro Nuclear and Allis-Chalmers. His work is described as “high precision technical and industrial illustration”. Pittsburgh raised, he was a self taught artist and in his later years co-founded Kender Art Associates.

This drawing was obtained from an engineer at Westinghouse and has been in storage. It has foxing and some areas that have worn mostly at top edge that do not interfere with the spacecraft itself. Did not attempt to clean or restore in any way. I do believe it could be cleaned but due to the airbrush media did not attempt. Amazing piece of space history! Please review all pictures carefully for condition and details.
