***The Ultimate NASA Jim Irwin Museum Collection Apollo Moon Land Film History:
$275000.00
These items came from the Colorado Springs home of Jim Irwin. I visited Mary Irwin at their home in the summer of 1999. The connection is that in 1989 I invited Jim to speak at our flight school. These are his personal items. There are over 125 16mm NASA and High Flight films, 20 cassette style video tapes, 25 audio reels, paper items and more.A letter from Alan Bean to Jim, a small box of slides, etc. 3 of the 4 last photos are the slides. That box has duplicateslides.
There are a number of small films in a few canisters and they might be personal footage. I saw a motorcyclein the leader of one of the films. This one of a kind amazing collection is being offered with the agreementthat the films will be shipped in separate shipments over a span of time agreed buy buyer to allow me to makedigital copies which will be provided to the buyer without cost. All the films have been well preserved, and don'tremember smelling any vinegar like odor from any. 1 is labeled scratched, and another has some crinkling to it.I might not be able to provide copies of the cassette style tapes as well as the audio. If not, these will get shipped early. Not sure anyone in the industry has the capability to transfer the Umatic style of tapes. You will get everythingin digital form that I am able to provide plus all the originals listed here. The shipping will exceed the 40 days listed due to the time to transfer films to digital.
The funds will be used to expand our Colorado history exhibit that features other items I have of Jim Irwin.Shipping is free to US addresses. I hope to carry on a small portion of what Jim had envisioned for his foundation. The letter addressed to Earthshine is not included. This was addressed to my former organization by Mary Irwinand is a personal letter to me. I can share the contents to the buyer. I included it here for provenance.
