Very rare Jaeger Le-coultre 540 Caliber Atmos Vendome Clock in good working condition.This 540 Caliber Atmos Vendome serial # is 648839.The clock has Just been professionally checked, maintained, and cleaned, it is functioning correctly and accurately. Please be sure to carefully view all pictures and video for full details.The original Vendome is one of the many styles produced based on the caliber 526. The first Vendome was catalogued in 1962, with variations in 1969 and 1972. A second series ofVendome'sbased on the caliber 540 was produced in the 1990s.

Both the dial and the generally architectural design of this clock are reminiscent of classicism. This is why it became famous under the names "Style", "Empire" or "Directoire". The partial greenish lacquer finish is reminiscent of oxidizedbronze.
The Atmos Vendome was produced in different variations and with different movement calibres. It appeared with a gold-plated base or with a marble base. The first Vendome was produced in 1962. In contrast to its predecessor models, it has a framed front door instead of the Plexiglas pane previously used.
The manufacturer's engraving is located on the front of the movement plate. An additional "Jaeger-Le Coulte Atmos" can be found at the bottom right of the glass door.
This beautiful collectible clock is in very good cosmetic condition. It has some very fine scratches and smudges on the metal top cover and base showing wear typical of age and display but these are only noticeable when viewed closely. The glass panels look very good as well. They could use a cleaning on the inside which should probably be performed by a professional to avoid damaging the works. The face, dial and hands look beautiful. Overall this clock is in great shape considering age. Please examine images closely, I've just recorded a video for your reference, so watch carefully. Atmos Clocks are very sensitive to changes in temperature and humidity which may be the only issue. The clock may be fine after sitting in one location for a time. These clocks are known for their durability and accuracy,so it is likely that a cleaning and minor adjustment/repair are all that is needed if anything,but we lack the expertise to say for certain, please do your own research.I live in Colorado, where Colorado Springs is at 6,035 feet above sea level, and iconic landmarks like Pikes Peak soar to an impressive 14,115 feet. My house is at an elevation of 7,020 feet. We experience significant temperature swings throughout the year, with daily changes sometimes reaching 30 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit (Please see the last picture). This clock now is set for high altitude, so if the new owner lives at a lower altitude, it may need some adjustments upon the clock arrival.Please understand that you are buying a vintage clock, vintage Atmos clocks do not keep perfect time like the modern quartz clocks.
