Abeautiful French 1925-1930 art decochandelier by Hubert Petitot in nickel plated solid brass orbronze. Itholds four large panels and a centralbowl by la maison Muller frères,the famous glass factory from Luneville France. All five shades are signed Muller fres Luneville. The famousParis based companyof Hubert Petitot was started by his father Alexandre Petitot in 1878. Hubert took over around 1917 and during the interbellum it grew into one of the largest firms producing bronze, high quality art deco lighting in France.

The chandelier is represented in the 1931 Petitot catalog in a slightly different version. Before 1931 Petitot issued the more luxurious version like the one on offer here with another, complex made, canopy. The chandelier has aheight of85,5cm(33,66")anda diameter of53 cm (20,87 inches). The fixture has its original 90 y/o nickel plating. It is in fairly good conditiongiven its age, with a nice patina: it shows wear allowing the bronze metal to shine through. I have cleaned it and placed an agent against oxidation. The lampis newly wired.It holds5 American standard sockets. For European countries I will place E27 ones.The chandelier will be shipped in several parcels with full insurance by priority airmail.
