For your consideration is a finely executed early nineteenth-century aristocratic watch fob seal dating to circa 1820, mounted in high-carat gold and set with an oval engraved white chalcedony (white agate) intaglio matrix. The seal measures approximately 24 19 mm including the suspension loop, with the chalcedony matrix measuring approximately 17.5 14 mm and the overall weight approximately 6.89 grams. The mount is formed in gold with refined openwork scroll ornament typical of English goldsmith work of the late Georgian and Regency period, designed to suspend from a gentlemans watch chain as both a functional sealing device and a symbol of status.

The chalcedony matrix is engraved in reverse with a heraldic achievement consisting of a coroneted shield encircled by a belt or garter bearing the Latin motto VIX EA NOSTRA VOCO. The garter is carefully rendered with a strap, buckle, and tongue forming a complete circular band around the arms, closely resembling the heraldic garter motif used in British armorial display. The motto is engraved in finely cut Roman capitals spaced evenly along the strap.
