Super rare 1917 Boy Scouts War Bond Distinguished Service Medal. Only 12 were awarded! One gold, one silver and 10 bronze (this sale is for one of the 10 bronze awards. I'm not sure there is a rarer Boy Scout medal out there!

Here is an excerpt from that book regarding the medal:Mr Colin H Livingstone the president of the Boy Scouts of America offered twelve medals one gold one silver and ten bronze to the twelve Scouts who should secure the largest number of subscriptions to bonds in the second campaign.In the second campaign the gold medal was captured by Charles Wailes of Troop 22 Memphis Tennessee who sold a total of 445,500 in bonds to 1312 purchasers The silver medal went to Irwin McGeary of Troop 28 St Louis Missouri for 1152 subscriptions and a total sale of 178,200 The bronze medals were awarded as follows the cash amount of the sales being given in each instance EF Schilling St Louis Mo
