MILLERS PATENT Plane, Model 41 Type 2 (3?), circa 1884?I've had this beautiful plane since the 1970s. It's in original condition, with original japanning, and finishes.I'm not sure which model type to call it. From the type studies, it appears somewherebetweentypes 2 and 3.
PLEASE NOTE the two-part screws for the fence and body, the elegant untouched handle horn, the nice black japanning,TheMillers Patentedstamp is on the handle which shows some scratches and marks.The small fence fits on the rods tightly when added along with the large fence and filletster.
Thebox?In the 1970s I owned a uniqueMillers Patent Number 42with the original box.I decided to build copies of the box with divided sections for the various parts, similar to the original. This one's included.I'll attach a couple of photos of the original box with its label.
