Original circa 1870's-1880's or so tintype of three German soldiers wearing spiked helmets. Measures 3 7/16 inches by 2 1/2 inches. Has some assorted minor flaws including some minor bends, some slight wear, & some small insignificant age spots. There is some light surface rust at the corner tips on the front.
There is a smooth bend at the center from right to left. The surface shows aging. There are signs along the edges that indicate this photo originally had a paper matt. The back has some flaking off of the surface emulsion & some surface rust spots. A scarce & appealing subject in a tintype.Please examine the photos closely & purchase based on your own judgement as to condition & value.
